There are now three types of 'latency compensation' options to choose: Low, Medium and High. These options seemed like they were enabled, for the most part. I selected 'low' and tested in cubase. I used a microphone plugged into my Alesis MultiMix 8 mixer and monitored through cubase. The latency seemed normal.

It was similar to when i would record in Tiger OS, and there was some latency. I switched to the 'medium' setting and restarted cubase. Ferguson Ariva 150 Combo Firmware Patch.

Now, the sound in my headphones as i spoke was choppy and distorted. Tested numerous times with the same result. I then switched to the 'high' option and tested in cubase. Monitor sounded well, and latency was surprisingly lower and just a bit noticeable. At times, i could hardly tell the difference between the monitor coming out of the mixer directly and the monitor coming out of cubase. I still think i prefer to monitor out of the mixer, but latency seems to be narrowed.

For the most part, the drivers seem to work OK with cubase and all other programs that have audio output (itunes, quicktime, etc.). Still seems buggy- at times, output in cubase would cut out then come back, but only for a second. I cannot fully blame the drivers from alesis, since my version of cubase hasn't officially been deemed leopard compatible. I only record voice audio for a simple podcast, so for now, these new drivers fit my needs. I would say to fully test their compatibility, they would have to be used with an app that is fully leopard compatible to avoid confusion between bugs in alesis drivers and bugs in applications.
