This is great way for someone, in a case like mine, to relearn guitar in a much more serious sense, after playing for a while just jamming, and playing tabs ect (I imagine it could be good for a VERY serious beginner too though).

It applies reading standard notation (aka sheet music) to guitar wonderfully, it might be difficult to fully comprehend if you have no prior knowledge of reading music (on another instrument, voice, or whatever), if you are using this book without a teacher or other music resource. It builds a solid foundation for playing and reading in all positions and keys.

There is at least one piece for each new concept introduced, so if you want to use this as a guide to excelling in sight reading, you will need more music to practice than what is in this book, for which I would recommend Leavitt’s books “reading studies for guitar” and/or “melodic rhythms for guitar”.
