But I don't know BESM, yet, but I know Disgaea. A big part of Disgaea is the Item World for levelling up your characters' items. That might be hard to implement and balance, but it's a fairly major part of the game series. Evilities could work like feats, perhaps. My advice would probably be to take BESM as a base concept, but adjust that to fit the Disgaea rules as opposed to the other way around, if you want to make it feel more like Disgaea and less like BESM with a Disgaea overlay. But, whatever you decide I wish you the best of luck dood!

Not sure where to start, since I had more exposure to the 2nd edition / d6 tri-stat. I got the Guardian of Order 3rd edition book, so I know the d20 system of BESM, but depending how you want combat to function. If its gonna be one-on-one, stick with d20 BESM. But if you want to do more Disgaea tactics combat, used 2nd edition.

(Simplified combat and less rolling in order to have more units in conflict easier.) However, if a good part of Disgaea leveling up involves upgrading equipment, when leveling up give the player 1 pt in Personal Gear and another to spend elsewhere or to safe for later abilities. Just an idea though.

Today I finished recording all of the first levels of all the different classes, found the average value for each skill and figured out what classes are going to get what attributes and defects. Then comes figuring out Item World and by extension Pirating and Reverse Pirating, Evilities, creating NPC monsers to join so they can magichange. Then of course I have to figure out exactly what the story should be so I can decide what the base should be so I can decide what the Council should be.
